Thanksgiving Before Everything Is Fixed

Thanksgiving does not have to wait until everything is fixed. In the middle of unfinished prayers, uncertain futures, family complications, and ordinary worries, grace is already present. Perhaps gratitude begins when we stop waiting for the perfect moment and discover the daily bread God has already placed before us.

When Our Promises Become Practices

Reconciliation cannot remain a promise the Church makes each September. Our commitments must become visible in our relationships, budgets, priorities, partnerships, and actions. As the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation approaches, we ask a challenging question: if someone examined the life of our church without hearing our words, would they be able to tell that reconciliation truly matters to us?

When September Ends: The Work That Must Continue

What happens when September ends, the orange shirts are folded away, and the Church calendar moves on? Reconciliation cannot be a season we observe and then leave behind. It must become a way of life—shaping our relationships, priorities, resources, and actions. The real measure of our commitment will be whether we remain faithful to the work long after the commemorations are over.

The Church Without Walls

Not every holy moment happens inside a church building. Sometimes God’s presence meets us beside a lake, beneath a shady tree, on a hiking trail, or over a quiet morning cup of coffee. This light-hearted reflection explores how summer vacations can become opportunities to rediscover the God who has always been present in creation—and why stepping away from our usual routine can actually deepen our appreciation for worship when we return. Even on vacation, grace is never out of office.
